Launched in the year 2000 and subsequently lengthened in 2004 to enhance its seating capacity, the MS-50 Semi-Submarine has carved its niche as a premier semi-submersible vessel dedicated to underwater sea life observation. With its construction anchored in high-quality aluminum to ensure durability and safety, this 65-foot marvel is designed to carry 49 passengers for an unparalleled viewing experience of the aquatic world beneath the waves. Its heavy laminated safety glass windows below deck serve as the window to the marine universe, inviting passengers into the depths without getting wet.

The MS-50’s unique build features a COI (Certificate of Inspection), affirming its compliance with stringent safety and operational standards. The vessel’s modification by Alaska Ship and Dry-dock was a strategic enhancement aimed at maximizing comfort and viewing pleasure for all onboard. Above deck, the semi-submarine offers covered seating areas, complemented by canvas and isinglass enclosures, as well as open seating on the forward deck, making every journey a scenic delight.

Navigation and steering are centralized within the conning tower, which is easily accessible via the top deck. Safety is paramount on the MS-50, with the deck equipped with non-skid surfaces, ample grab rails/ropes, and essential safety equipment including USCG-approved floats and a life ring. Below deck, the viewing area is meticulously arranged with bench-type seating and expansive windows for an immersive underwater experience, further enriched with audio-visual presentations for educational engagement.

The MS-50 Semi-Submarine’s structural integrity and systems embody the pinnacle of maritime engineering. The hull and superstructure’s aluminum composition, coupled with bronze through-hull fittings and comprehensive safety features, underscore its robustness. The meticulous inspection covering both exterior and accessible interior spaces has showcased the vessel’s exemplary condition, reaffirming its readiness for commercial operation.

This semi-submarine stands as a testament to innovation in marine tourism, offering both educational and recreational avenues to explore the underwater realm. It embodies a harmonious blend of technological sophistication and environmental consciousness, making it an invaluable asset for ventures aimed at bringing the mysteries of the ocean closer to the surface.
